All of the vacuums on this list were also very similar in height and overall size. The Dyson models are both roughly 49 inches, while the Tineco A11 is shorter at just 43 inches tall. Break free from the restrictions of cords and wires with the BISSELL 3-in-1 CrossWave TM Cordless cleaner. Ideal for regular, routine cleaning as well as those messy accidents that simply happen in an active family home. 25 minutes of uninterrupted run time enables you to simultaneously vacuum, wash and dry multiple rooms and floor types in the average sized house.

Not having a cord to deal with has been great, not only for my kids but for me too! That’s why I decided that when I reviewed the Bissell ICONpet Cordless Vacuum, I was going to wait a solid 6 months to deliver my review. Here we are, 6 months later, and I’m ready to give you a thorough, honest review of this vacuum cleaner. All of that adds up to a great cordless vacuum at a price that won't clean out your bank account. From Dyson and Samsung to Tineco and Shark, here are the top models that cleaned up in our tests.

For one, the head of the upholstery tool can be pivoted into a T formation, but we had to manhandle it a little—it’s not an easy transition, so don’t be afraid to put some muscle into it. Second, you can actually use the upholstery tool in tandem with the crevice tool if you need to get into a tight space. We didn’t find an application for this feature, bissell handheld vacuum but it’s there should you need it. While the ICONpet cordless vacuum did a great job cleaning up after Gunther, there were a few pieces of litter here and there that still escaped. Here at my house, what I’ll find in furniture is a guessing game. Most of the time it’s leftover breakfast and dog hair, both of which the Bissell sweeps right up!

With minimal moving parts and super clear instructions, it took less than twenty minutes to put together. Bissell recommends charging the unit for four hours before using, and despite being impatient, I listened. Once the vacuum was ready to roll, I tested it on several surfaces.

Since we are renting, a friend is fostering our dogs for us, so we do not currently have any dogs in our home. (Hopefully, we will be reunited soon though!) We do however have 3 females in our home with long hair. It felt like the brush roll on our other vacuum was constantly getting bissell cordless vacuum clogged and I had to cut things off. I am happy to report that I have not had to get my scissors out once yet for this vacuum! I did just check it and there are some hairs wrapped around it, but not very many, and it hasn’t affected the functionality of the brush or suction.

I love that it lights up, making it easier to spot any dirt on the floor. I have not noticed any loss of suction since we first started using it. I WILL say though, it is clearly very well made because although my kids let it fall to the floor (sometimes even hard floors) at least 20 different times already, it just keeps on going. I often have them vacuum as part of their chores but it’s hard for the younger kids to navigate a cord. I was hopeful that a cordless vacuum would make this chore easier for my kids. This versatile 3-in-1 vacuum weighs under 10 lbs and easily converts to a handheld or extended-reach vacuum for quick clean-ups and hard-to-reach places.

You also don’t have to change bags, though the dust bin is smaller than some other models’. Less convenient is the fairly short cord, which you’ll likely have to unplug and move between outlets if you’re working with a larger space. Our team of CNET experts, editors and lab technicians has been testing vacuums in a smart home and testing warehouse located in Louisville, for over 10 years.

At this point, there are multiple competitors with top models that can go toe to toe with Dyson on our test floors. BISSELL vacuums tend to be affordably priced and use bagless designs that keep recurring costs down. Unfortunately, they aren't usually the best choice for all-out cleaning performance and can feel cheaply made. The biggest issues we had with the BISSELL ICON cordless vacuum cleaner really were the dustbin size and battery life, but those are very specific to our particular household. The Bissell AirRam scores great in the convenience category with a weight of less than eight pounds. It also boasts 40 minutes of battery life, and has a collapsible handle for easy storage.
